Some of the more popular varieties of tomatoes include some of the larger varieties like Big Boy and Better Boy. Some of the smaller determinant varieties do better in hot weather, with Celebrity and Carnival doing better in the South and Southwest, along with some of the smaller fruits like cherry tomatoes and Sweet 100s. For container plantings even smaller like Tumbling Tom or Patio tomatoes will do well.
